Job Description

As the head of SAP  Sales and Growth, you will; directly or indirectly,  help identify leads, offer proposals to new clients, and build relationships with customers and co-workers alike.  It will be your responsibility to find enough prospects, deliver effective pitching and build the company’s customer list and ultimately grow revenue as per your set targets. In sales lingo, you will “move people from the top of the sales funnel to the bottom – that is – being a signed customer.” Business development is crucial to the growth of this organization.

Key Tasks and Roles

  • Take full ownership of the SAP sales & growth team outcomes we’re responsible for. Knowing what we intend to achieve as an organization as a whole is where you start and then break it down into smaller pieces and build strategies and plans on how to deliver this in the short, medium, and long term.
  • Define SAP Sales & Growth inputs for the team:  Our job is not to be moral cops but to deliver revenue and growth for the organization’s survival and growth and this is where you will firmly assert your influence. Define the inputs the team will need to put in place to actually deliver this.  Not wishful thinking. research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets

  • Direct and indirect people management: You will lead and manage people. This is perhaps the hardest part of your job as you will have to use both positive and negative energy to motivate people! And yet people are like cats that cannot be herded like sheep! So findings ways to make people see and believe in your vision and the organization is perhaps a skill you will need to master pretty fast! And you should also learn not to be afraid to reprimand and fire people! Comes with the territory! 
  • Ensure the team focuses on priorities, milestones, and deliverables. The biggest advice for this role is: Prioritize fearlessly.
  • Processes: Implement disciplined sales and growth operations processes
  • Work to meet service level agreements with customer deployments with consistency, quality, and timeliness.
  • Maximize our rate of learning. We view projects as ever-evolving drafts and welcome opportunities to discover that what we had in mind won’t work so we can move to an even better end state. Most importantly, we do this fast. The faster we run these loops — as a company and individuals — the faster we’ll achieve our mission.
  • Solution and Sales Consultant: You will jump on calls with our sales teams and customers to help provide clarity and technical leadership and prowess of what is possible and what is not. Customers will expect to hear and trust your advice over the sales folks. 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Highly motivated and proactive, with proven leadership ability
  • Direct Sales experience, preferably within the area of IT consulting or cloud computing
  • Experience in managing complex enterprise deals (product + services desirable)
  • Be an accomplished sales and marketing professional with a high level of initiative and vision, commercial acumen, strategic skill with the ability to drive sales and add value to a successful business.
  • An excellent track record in pipeline generation and pipeline conversion.
  • Proposal development, negotiate to close, deal shaping and business case development.
  • Excellent senior client stakeholder communication skills, structured, strong analytical and results-oriented mindset.
  • At Least 5 years relevant sales experience in the tech industry.

Education & Professional Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Commerce, BBIT, IT or a related field
  • Excellent written and oral communicator.
  • Strong ability to multitask and meet objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working with multiple groups within business.
  • Judgment and Decision-Making: In the instances where the candidate receives assignments in the form of projects he/she has the freedom to decide on priorities and how to accomplish assignments.
