Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Commercial Analyst will be the key resource for the development and
dissemination of key financial, commercial, business statistics and information to the organization for decision making. Using a
variety of factors and tools including supply and demand, pricing trends, revenue and expenses and competition practices you will
gather financial and operational data and provide analysis and recommendations on improving the business financial and
commercial performance
Accountabilities
• Provide Monthly analysis of Sales KPI information including but not limited to sales trends, target vs achieved, balance year to
date and outstanding vs budget for each market, product mix selling analysis vs plan, margin accretion delivered vs plan per
product per market.
• Identifying new business opportunities by researching industry trends and identifying new technologies or methods of doing
business that could be applied to existing products or services.
• Creating reports detailing findings from research and recommending steps to take to improve performance in a particular
market or with a particular product.
• Recommending changes to existing products or services based on customer feedback about what they like and dislike about
current offerings.
• Analyzing competitors’ products, pricing strategies, and marketing campaigns in order to develop a strategy for competing
against them.
• Communicating findings and recommendations to management for decision making
• Analyzing current marketplace conditions by collecting data from public records and conducting surveys to determine trends
in consumption patterns.
• Conducting financial analysis of potential investments and identifying potential risk factors
• Analyzing customer demographics and behavior patterns to identify opportunities for new products or services that will appeal
to specific groups of consumers.
Key skills/Competencies/Experience/ Qualification
Requirements
• At least 4+ years’ experience as analyst in a manufacturing/ FMCG setting
• Strong technical skills in analysis, finance and accounting
• Graduate in Commerce, finance, economics or related field with Full accounting qualifications (CPA/ACCA)
• Strong stakeholder management and inter personal skills
• Experience in use of SAP ERP and modelling tools
• Highly analytical, data driven through high attention to detail and structure
• High financial acumen and tertiary training including forecasting, modelling and budget management
• Big4 experience would be an added advantage
