Job Description

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the holder of this position will be responsible for management of Student Accounts Section of Finance Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and update student accounts – Debtors list
  2. Bill students’ accounts, and invoice – Debtors aging report every month.
  3. Post financial aid – Financial aid account reports
  4. Reconcile all financial aid accounts – Reconciliation statements
  5. Reconcile tuition revenue accounts monthly
  6. Make credit arrangement with sponsors, and student for payment of fees in installment – installment payment plan forms
  7. Respond to students and sponsors queries on the account balances
  8. Manage exchange and other programs: MOE, KEI, HELB, American University, International Students Exchange,
  9. Financial clearance – for collection of course text and access to facilities by students.
  10. Students’ hold management – inability to register and access to personal records by students with hold.
  11. Supervision & improvement of section processes
  12. Reconcile Commission for University Education(CUE) Account
  13. Analysis of Bad debts as per IFRS 9
  14. Analysis of unidentified assets for submission to UFAA
  15. Review Tuition refunds.

Educational/Professional Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and CPA/ACCA/CIFA Finalist
  2. Relevant Master’s Degree;
  3. Proficiency in computer applications;
  4. Served as Senior Accountant for a minimum of 3 years;
  5. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
