Job Description
Job Purpose
- The Program Officer, ICT Infrastructure and Support will be responsible to the Director, Information Communication and Technology for designing, implementing and supporting innovative ICT infrastructure solutions to enable and drive the Huduma Kenya Service Delivery Programme requirements, objectives and strategy.
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:
- Cumulative work experience of nine (9) years’ and to have served as a Programme Assistant, Network & Security, Cloud and Virtualization and ICT Infrastructure or in a comparable and relevant position for three (3) years in the public or private sector;
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Planning Management from a recognized institution is an added advantage;
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Information Communication Technology Certifications in: Cisco Routing and Switching, Cisco Network Design, Configuration and Troubleshooting, Microsoft Server and Domain infrastructure, Data Center Network and Security Design and Implementation;
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010; and
- Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and a thorough understanding of national goals, policies and Kenya Vision 2030 and ability to align them to the Secretariat’s mandate.
Key Duties and responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities will include: -
- Formulating and administering ICT Infrastructure and support policies, directing and coordinating ICT Infrastructure and Support sectional activities;
- Coordinate the development of key performance goals for ICT Infrastructure and support functions and direct reports; design, continuous optimization and continuous research and development of innovative ICT solutions to drive Huduma Service Delivery platforms;
- Coordinate and oversee Implementation, Testing and Commissioning of Huduma Kenya Data Centre solutions, Data Centre Private Cloud and Virtual Desktop solutions, Data Centre Network and Security, Huduma Centres ICT Infrastructure solutions and Huduma Kenya Applications Infrastructure solutions;
- Coordinate Team Management, Training and Knowledge transfer to ICT Infrastructure Team and Huduma Centres Staff on usage and operation Huduma Kenya ICT solutions;
- Plan Huduma Kenya ICT Infrastructure Solutions Procurement, Budget & Cost Management;
- Coordinate Huduma Kenya ICT Service Delivery & Service Level Management; and
- Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
